josh surprised me this morning big time. after breakfast and a shower i reached for the toothpaste and found the ring taped to it haha. i shouted for him and he came in,got down on one knee, gave a little lovin speech and popped the big question. i was speechless! but of course i accepted his request and now im engaged!
now i get to pick out a dress!
now i get to plan something!
oh my oh my.
josh is the greatest and has been a huge part of who i've been becoming as a woman. i couldn't ask for anyone else to spend my life with.

yesterday after work i came home and fell asleep for a while until lara showed up at my door. surprise! we went for a walk to spotswood so she could check out an apartment. it was a traditional ghent style place. i'd rather her just take up sarahjane's lease and hang out next door. then we went to red dogs so she could eat and i had a beer. there we were spotted by fellow ghentite kirk and i spotted the great jesse phipps. it was good to see him again.

i eventually got hungry and got my boyfriend and we went to ten top for take out. yummm city!! i think i'll definitely be picking up food from there from now on. so many veggie options for me. we ate and watched true blood dvds. i'm really enjoying our naro video rental membership. so much. after a few glasses of wine is off to sleepsville and here i am awake on a saturday off to serve some time at the ol' r&k. i still technically work there but don't work there. i fill in on weekends for extra cash if they ever need the assistance. its not all bad. i still get hair benefits this way you know? but i mean getting ready in the morning is way easier when i can just get up and throw on scrubs. ew.

i plan on watching bill cosby comedy tapes tonight. i've been planning it. no shame. i love mr. cosby.

here i am. sitting in my new apartment in west ghent. my neighborhood is entirely too cute and i'm enjoying it very much.
we moved in on saturday when i got done with class. its slowly coming together with furniture and decor but i have a lot of belief in this little place.
living with josh has been similar to our life before considering i had been with him every day this past year anyway. but it is new and fun as well. we fix each other lunches for work and kiss goodbye as we go off for our days. speaking of a year josh and i will have been dating for a full on year next week! we win. so much has changed over this year its sort of scary. i remember josh and i talking back and forth while he was in arkansas for work getting to know each other and i remember him leaving arkansas three months early to come home and really get to know me. hes absolutely wonderful.
last night we walked down to red dog to meet up with lara and richard and ran into our neighbor sarahjane during the process and nick and kristin. i love how that works. i mixed my wines and beers and definitely felt no good this morning but i press on.
i have class today. its my final class before my actual finals which is the final class until i take cpr certification and radiology certification classes and finish all of this madness. three months of schooling went by really really fast. and there went the summer!
im excited for autumn for once in my whole life.

after class tonight i will officially be living in sin with my boyfriend. hah.
i was always honest with my parents about me leaving them which was hard for me at first. my whole life i've been terrified of my mom and her strong conservative views. things are a lot easier these days with josh in my life. i'm not scared of a lot of things like i used to be. not even my scary mother. i've been growing up a bit over the past few months, people.
last night we were at the apt doing some work and sarahjane showed up and gave us a beer to welcome us. shes our kramer. sort of.

everything is going well. this is my last night in the house i've lived in since the beginning of high school. a lot of good happy memories here. like starting bands and writing songs. one too many crazy drunken memories here as well.

due to me having school this summer i was only able to be at the lake for one day but it was all okay because that one day felt like four days. we had a lot of fun like usual and that may be the last trip of the summer. hmm!
i've been packing like a mad woman. last night josh and i had to finish doing our inspection and moved my chair and ottoman over. so our apartment is only furnished right now with that small chair and small ottoman. i sort of love it just like that. we visited the basement and it was a place i will never visit again. haunt fest u.s.a., brah! if i was a ghost or homeless or the ghost of a homeless person i'd haunt that basement. should've taken photos! nuts.
so my packing continues and hopefully ends today (as long as i get off this computer successfully). my brother/anyone else i can find that has offered today are going to help me with my norfolk commute to throw my stuff in there.
i might work in a dental office in norfolk tomorrow morning with emily. shes been assisting there for quite some time and asked her doctor if i could intern. she has made me very happy.

i watched "17 again" on a whim. i actually really enjoyed it. love that efron boy.
i still haven't seen "500 days of summer" or "ponyo".
i did get to watch half of the mike tyson documentary that just came out. his views on women and sex made me very nervous. when he was a kid he kept pigeons and then these bullies killed his pigeons...so he beat the bullies up. now hes a monster. i felt really bad for him about those pigeons though.
i didn't think i had a lot to pack for the move but now i'm realizing i have way too much stuff! the lease is getting signed today and then after that we can move in whenever. i'm so excited!
theres a lot happening with work, school and interning, and getting our apartment together. i only have three weeks left of school to learn as much as possible and get as many interning hours as i can and i have to be out of this house completely by the end of this month so the new owners can move in.
sunday i'm going to the lake house. i wish i was moving to the lake house.

i walked into some dental offices today after my clinical asking if i could volunteer a couple hours during the week to gain more experience. i walked out with an application to a pediactric dental office. i probably would enjoy that.

i had clinical today at the dentist office. i was all sorts of terrifed going in on account of the doctor i work with is one mean man that just cannot be pleased. we've had some moments where i wanted to run out of the room but have always gotten through it. today after we did a surgical extraction he actually pat me on the shoulder and said "you did real good". i just about fell over!
fantastic! my confidence level is a lot higher today. i'm starting to get the hang of the instruments and their purposes and what come when. its week six. im actually almost done.
after that josh and i toured apartments. we found something we like but who knows where we are going to end up.

im melting! the earth is so hot!
i swear i dream teeth every night. i see teeth in everything. i saw the maxillary sinus cavity in the sky the other night.
i'm moving in a few weeks and then moving again in a few weeks. so weird.
tides game tonight with everyone in hampton roads. pretty excited. we always have a good time at harbor park. its cool that we have a baseball team we can go see like that but it would be really cool to have a team of any sport that we could all be really proud of. in december we're going to try to go to dc to see a wizards vs. celtics games. i'm very excited about this thought. we'd much rather go to boston for a game but dc is closer so you know the deal.

july is almost completely finished and so far this summer has been full of fun. i've especially liked hanging out more with old friends and sunday beach days. i've known landon longer than most people i know and its been this summer that i have seen the most of the guy. landon, josh and i played jeopardy last night and i won again. because i'm great. although i'm enjoying my summer and really prefer warm weather over cooler temps i am actually looking forward to it being over. when summer ends that will mean school is ending and i will hopefully be living in a new location. i'm just looking to get all the changes out of the way and that means summer must die. but until then i'm fine.

the michael jackson tribute party was a lot of fun. so many photos were taken by so many cameras. josh won first place in the costume contest for his portrayal of michael in the video for "you are not alone". yes, he just wore a towel.
i was struggling to get my costume together before the party started and my sanity together really. i had a class on x-rays from 9am till close to 8pm. i took so many darn x-rays and i had my teeth rayed more than i wanted. i'm surprised i'm not in hulk mode. this class is becoming really fun. fun but very challenging and cumbersome.
i just got back from the beach with a lot of great people. i am thankful i have great people in my life. i shouldn't have eaten as much pizza as i did just now but i will say i am thankful for that pizza i did have.

finally finished "desolation angels" some where in the past week or two. i really enjoyed it. the first 200 pages had me struggling to continue but after that i was happy with my old pal jackie. i chose "trout fishing in america" by richard brautigan off josh's book shelf mainly because i thought he looked cool and i read most of it at the beach yesterday. it has me laughing and laughing.
my skin is tight from the sun.
tomorrow is basically my orientation to school which i start saturday. i may get a hook up with an internship which would be really nice. i'd like to have my foot in the door.
i beat landon in chicken fights. three times in a row. just so you know. im tough.
last night we all danced with josh's mother to cher. this happens from time to time. a lot of pictures were taken but really lets talk about how much of a babe cher was. when i was a little girl i remember really loving sonny and cher and thinking cher was the prettiest lady. i also felt like this with dolly parton. i think i have an inner drag queen spirit. i must.

went on a date last night to the boot and ate my little heart out. minestrone, fettuccine with home grown mushrooms and shortbread with orange marmalade and dark chocolate. yumm! i had forgotten how much i enjoyed that place. not so much the prices but everything else. i'm lucky to have a boyfriend that spoils me. lara and i used to practically live at relative theory when we were playing a couple shows a month there so we got close to those boot boys! its nice they still say hi and such. speaking of shows i want to play at least one before the summer ends. at least one. i have a lot of ideas.

we're going to the lake house this weekend when i get off work tomorrow. which means a lot of photos to be taken. i'm going to take a lot more with film this time. i'm very excited! i always have so much fun there. its a good get a way. i can't wait to get lots of sun and ride the jet skis with my josh.

today is vincenzo mario luigi di leone's (dad) birthday. he is the coolest guy i've ever known. with his long black hair he continues to fight the man and the southern baptists down the street during the day and plays bar gigs at night. he also says funny jokes.

we're going green at the salon. like recycling foils after they've been in peoples hair and recycling peoples hair when it comes off their head. i kind of like it. i wish i didn't have to wear sweaters to cover up sleeveless shirts at work. boo.

i had a great weekend just like i thought! we spent all weekend at the lake house with tommy and jenny. we did a lot of swimming, boat riding, jet ski driving, drinking, good eating, and reallly good sleeping. although i am now pretty scared of snapping turtles it was a lot of fun and i'm sad its all over and its back to work. i have many pictures that i will post some day. josh and i have been planning a trip to somewhere for a while now and i think we're going to (have to) take it soon because we like being away that much. and because my school starts the first week of july and who knows when i'll be able to go on long trips after that.
and i have so many crazy feelings about starting school again. but whatever.

home sick from work today. just watched "the reader". finally. i can't really explain how i feel right now after watching it. it was not what i expected and i'm pretty sure i liked that. i wonder how i ever learned to read. i feel like kate winslet should be in everything i watch/do today.
i also like the "local heroes" comic shop next to cogans. its the cutest comic shop i've been in. so comfy. how did i never notice it? i almost bought volume 1 of "fables" but then didn't because george always raved about it and then that made me not want to. but people always rave about "the dark knight returns" and that remains a top pick to me. i'm a fickle shopper. i am having a very quiet afternoon getting absolutely nothing done and i love it.

i remember hearing this when i was a really little kimmy and thinking i was really cool and needing to be really cool. it was during a time that would be the beginning of fashion disasters and playing in girl bands for me. when i think about it i've been in some form of a band for most of my life. it started in middle school with katie, jess and i on clarinet, flute, and cello (we had to start somewhere) and we went from there to electric guitars and liz on drums and then lara's appearance into my life later in highschool. then steve came into play and katie, jess and liz were all far off at schools. steve went away to turn into a tool bag leaving lara and i to turn 21 and become drunken bar singers. i made a series of bad choices and lara and i divorced and for the first time in forever i am doing nothing musically. i hate it.

the celtics lost last night ending serie 2 and ending the playoffs and ruining everything for my little heart. i seriously cried. i have fallen ill so my whimpers were probably mainly from being a baby. but i was bummed. josh held me as my snotty nose and i went to sleep and told me theres always next year.

im going to make vegetable soup and not be sick anymore.

lately i've really been hating on eggs. especially the organic ones i usually live off of. no one can give me an egg anything that makes me want to keep eating them it seems. i wanted to make a quiche today. because that would be something different. but then i decided that i hate eggs. so i found a tofu recipe. but i have no tofu. and i need satisfaction soon. anyway, i do love raisin bran so heeeey good morning!
i really wish josh had more than just sundays off. almost 12 hour days everyday with no guarantee that sunday will always be free. i wish this for his sake really. i don't want it to kill him. the pay is good and the benefits are amazing but i worry. i tell him we could live anywhere (preferably on the road outside of the US as gypsies) but he says we have to have nice things and a good home to put children and his imac in. and i do appreciate that. josh has really come a long way. i am very very proud of him.
celtics play game seven tonight. they better not be jerks!
i wore my first long dress of the season last night. being a small human some things make me feel even smaller but this just made me feel fancy.
i need to finish this book i've been reading for ages. two hundred more pages to go. ouch ouch.
the rain needs to stop happening. i want to go to busch gardens and use the tickets that have been sitting in my room for weeks!

my mom is an intimidating, loud, red headed woman from new jersey who has always forced foreign films and museum trips into my life demanding that i get cultured. she fought hard into the italian family of my father which only increased her powers and taught her to make the best meatballs and zeppolis i've ever had. meat temptation. ask her any question about the history of any woman and she probably has the answer. ask her anything about star trek and i know she has the answer. i grew up knowing barbara streisand and bette midler and being taken to broadway plays. waking up in the morning to the sounds of her and her sisters hollering not because theyre mad but because thats just the way they communicate and having to fight my way into conversation i think is the reason why i have absolutely no volume control for such a small human. my mom always told me never to marry an italian man because though they were great lovers they were all whores. she also slammed my hand in the car door an hour before i was boarding a plane to venice. she knew what she was doing.
i love mothers. i really do. because even though i can complain and tell everyone how scary she is she is seriously the smartest and strongest woman i know and i like having some of that blood inside of me.

the blood drive came to the mall yesterday and i just HAD to go donate. my blood is high in iron and that is good news to me. i was very concerned for a while that i may be anemic since i feel i don't always get all the nutrients i need. i win. they gave me a hat and some pretzels cha ching!
after work i watched the final series one playoff game and luckily the celtics won. wahoo! on to series two against the magic and my brains and insides can explode a little more in suspense!
who knew i'd learn to really like basketball. when josh and first started dating i told him that i really only noticed the different colors during a game and i couldn't focus at all. but i think the purchase of a really cool garnett jersey inspired me to get into it. i just think its a lot of fun. wish i had long legs. i'm going to give birth to an nba player.
when josh and i woke up this morning we immediately drove to the beach. i forgot my camera. big mistake. i watched a seagull eat something i don't think seagulls or humans should eat. not sure what it was. i just know it wasn't edible. i'm pretty sure that seagulls gonna die. we had a perfect morning though lounging and splashing. the water is still too cold to really be happy about. i washed my hair three times and i'm still sandier than ever.
its getting dark outside now and the rains coming down and i miss julia. when you off next, girl? gonna see ryan tomorrow. pretty pumped! nothing left to say. i wish i would've taken pictures of something cool. eh.

megan contacted false cape park (the back back number went to them?) about the back bay death sightings and they blamed it on hunting and dumping even though there's a sign that says no hunting or animal tormenting. the woman had no explanation for the deer tied to the tree and said she was going to call back bay and ask them. whaatteevver they're just covering up their death land. we're going to go back but last night i turned on animal planet and watched a show on wild hogs in america. killing machines! i got a little nervous. enough of this, right.
i need new photos. of everything.
i'm so happy that its saturday. just want to get this work day over. i kind of really want to fast forward to july so i can start school and then end school and then be awesome.

megan and i went on our adventure this morning to explore back bay.
i thought this seal sign was funny because i was not aware we had seals around these parts.

we decided to go off the trails and hide from the passing park rangers by jumping into the trees and bushes. it was a lot of fun until we ran into a world of death!

i know that its gross and i feel funny posting a bunch of dead animal photos but i just couldn't believe that this deer was tied up and left to die. and even wilder was that all around it were more dead animals. everywhere! i guess thats why that part of the refuge was gated off.

the smell was terrible and i'm pretty sure this is how you get the swine flu but we were just so curious as to why dead things were everywhere. there was a giant hog head next to a giant headless body but the headless thing had claws rather than hoofs. we guessed it a dead bear. who knows!

after all that megan wanted to eat. i wanted to puke. can't wait till we go to the crab tree waterfalls next!

zooey deschanel's cotton commercial caught me off guard with its cuteness.

my back and whole body is feeling a million times better after these chiropractor visits. i woke up today wanting to crack everything in my spine BUT i woke up with absolutely no reason to. an easter miracle. i also did the "photon genie" yesterday. you hold on to two light sabers and they send electricity throughout your body and heals you of everything ever to be healed of. thats some tesla shiii right there. google it.

i went to the chiropractor and my fears were confirmed. i really do have the back of an elderly woman. the doctor couldn't believe how badly out of alignment i was. my hips were completely out of place and it seemed my whole spine was far off track. i don't know what i did to myself but i knew it hurt. now i feel good. amazing. i have to return a few more times to keep up the fixens and do morning stretches/walks now ANNND purchase orthopedic shoes. i'm gonna be so hot.
the celtics love winning games when i can't watch them on tv.
i missed passover this year. i'm just not as jewish anymore i guess.
i am glad my boyfriend doesn't work on a ship. these pirates are driving me crazy.

chiropractor visit is in store for me today. my back has been ruined for months (which i think can be linked back to a yogalates pose done wrong) and i just now decided it would be good to get it looked at. hopefully they can snap me back in shape. i feel like an old lady. i mean i love old ladies i just am not ready to be one. besides, field day is this sunday and i need to be all that i can be!
i am excited to play photography games with sarah reece. when i bought my camera i never wanted to be a photographer and i still don't but after getting booked for small gigs and actually getting a bit of recognition for my silly shots i'm enjoying it. i would like a better camera for sure but that won't come for a while. too many up and coming expenses. but a kid who took all my money told me once that the camera wasn't as important as who was taking the picture.
i think julia left the country. i hope i get a postcard. i hope i don't see her on the today show. unless shes holding a sign up saying "Hi KIMMY!" because that might really be awesome.
i watched "elegy" recently. loved it. penelope cruz is my favorite. i mean i'm typing this at 5am thinking i have awesome hair but shes got locks to diiiie for.
i used to use way too much hairspray.

i love nights out with julia. i've said before though that i prefer them when "we have no friends." anyway, we like to laugh and move our limbs from side to side. we also like beer. yeah yeah.

i made josh a picture book on my mac. it is the coolest picture book in the world. its like barnes and noble photography section quality. im proud. he and i have a million pictures in just seven months. i get shutter happy.

i shouldn't be buying more music (or spoken word albums...) but the latest buzz about "os mutantes" has got me needing it. back in high school i was figuring out all that i liked musically and i was really into "the who". at this moment in my life though i can't really say i'm still into that band but it was all part of a process! anyway so a girl in my band class gave me an "os mutantes" album and said if i made her a mix of all who songs she'd make a mutantes one for me. and i danced and danced and then i lost it all. everything after that was all finger pickin and a'pluckin, cowboy boots and old hymns.
so the sun is shining and my bike is in the garage. i've got a peacoat again so my body and ipod can handle the wind. if only i had a wind breaker. laterrrrzzz.
